Last year, ExxonMobil deepened its support for Houston’s youngest residents with a landmark $3 million donation to Kids’ Meals, a nonprofit dedicated to feeding preschool-aged children facing food insecurity. The contribution - the largest corporate gift in the organization’s history - helped fund the construction of a new 54,000-square-foot facility in the Spring Branch neighborhood of Houston, which officially opened on September 24.

“Our work with Kids’ Meals reflects a shared commitment to improving the education, health, and well-being of children across Houston,” said Alvin Abraham, Global Manager of Corporate Giving at ExxonMobil. “We’re excited to see the new campus further advance that impact.”

Nearly triple the size of its previous building, the new Kids’ Meals ExxonMobil Campus is designed to serve up to 26,000 children each weekday by 2031 and accommodate 125 volunteers in each shift. Every detail of the space, from apple sculptures lining the walkway to a towering brown bag installation at the entrance, embodies the organization’s mission to end childhood hunger. The campus also features the Brown Bag Café, operated in partnership with Belong Kitchen, which provides employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

To celebrate the opening of the new campus, 100 ExxonMobil volunteers joined 200 guests, including Harris County officials and local community leaders, for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

In a strong show of support for the organization earlier this year, 3,000 ExxonMobil employees and their families also gathered at the company’s Houston Campus to pack 10,000 meals for Kids’ Meals.

“This building is a testament to how far we’ve come - from a small team with a big mission to a purpose-built campus designed to serve thousands more children,” said Beth Harp, CEO of Kids’ Meals. “But we know the work isn’t done. Poverty and food insecurity remain urgent challenges in Greater Houston, and we are profoundly grateful to the partners who have stood with us and continue to support our mission to end childhood hunger.”
