Techxpert offers a fully paid learn-and-work combination, aimed at obtaining a Process Operator MBO level 4 diploma (C) and securing a job as a Process Operator within our company.
What is Techxpert?
Techxpert is the name of our initiative to recruit and train Process Operators for Esso Nederland / ExxonMobil Chemical Holland (ExxonMobil). It is a fully paid combination of learning and working with the aim of obtaining a Process Operator MBO level 4 diploma (C) and then a job as a Process Operator within our company.
Why Techxpert?
An industry like ours continuously needs new talent. By this program, we aim to offer you a challenging and rewarding career at one of the largest international petrochemical companies, at the heart of the today’s and tomorrow’s energy market.
At ExxonMobil, we are committed to, among other things, reducing CO2 emissions in support of a net-zero future.
At the same time, it’s important to continue to provide affordable, reliable energy, as well as the building blocks for many products everyone daily relies on. This does not only include fuels and lubricants, but also items like cell phones, medical supplies, and even clothing. And we need to achieve this with a lower carbon footprint. Our focus is on sustainable solutions with the lowest CO2 emissions throughout their lifetime, that are cost-effective for customers, and help them reducing their emissions as well.
What’s the process?
From January 1, 2025, we will offer up to 25 candidates the opportunity to participate in a training program by ExxonMobil to become a Process Operator at MBO level 4. The training is provided in collaboration with regular education on behalf of ExxonMobil. The practical part of the training, which makes up a large portion of the total package, will take place at diverse ExxonMobil production sites.
Who can apply?
Candidates who completed a Process Operator B program or an MBO education with mathematics, physics, and chemistry, and who finished their education within the last five years, are eligible to apply. Additionally, candidates with a completed HAVO (NT) education are also welcome to apply.
Do I get paid?
Yes, participants will be appointed to our company from the start of the training.

ExxonMobil is a proud partner of the Elektrotechniek+ initiative. Together with companies Shell, BP, Equans, and Spie, and educational institutions Techniek College Rotterdam, STC Brielle, Goflex, and Vakwijs, ExxonMobil has developed a new MBO-4 Electrical Engineering program.
We have enjoyed working on this unique program, which trains young people to become Electrical and Instrumentation technicians in the industry.
This 4-year program consists of two years of BOL education, followed by two years of BBL learning, during which they are well-paid while working for one of the affiliated companies.
The entire program is funded, allowing students to save for a scooter or a driver’s license during the first two years of study. With this program, we give young people a head start in their careers, preparing them to make a difference in the energy transition.
More information, including the open day schedule, can be found at www.elektrotechniekplus.nl.
