ExxonMobil is committed to building and sustaining a diverse workforce. Diversity strengthens us by promoting unique viewpoints and challenges each of us to think beyond our traditional frames of reference. It shapes our approach to recruitment and retention and influences how we mentor and develop future leaders.

As part of our commitment to supporting everyone who works for us and ensuring they have opportunities for career development and personal growth, ExxonMobil encourages participation in employee resource groups. One of these is the Women’s Interest Network (WIN), which we established to ensure women at ExxonMobil are supported in achieving their full potential.

Marie-Laure Halleman is EU business development manager at ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions and a member of the WIN executive council. “It’s important for ExxonMobil to have a network like WIN,” she says. “It's not just a women’s thing; it’s a business thing. Because we want to attract the best talent.”

WIN oversees a range of initiatives, including mentoring, recruitment efforts and professional development. Another focal point for WIN – which is represented by chapters in ExxonMobil locations around the world – is ensuring there are visible female role models in the company. As Marie-Laure explains: “Role models play a key role in attracting females to the workplace."

As part of this, ExxonMobil makes sure women in leadership positions are prominent in recruiting new talent, such as when the business visits university campuses. This allows the prospective next generation of female leaders at ExxonMobil to meet and engage with the current ones.
