Supporting our community

For over 100 years, ExxonMobil has been more than just an energy provider—we’ve been a dedicated part of the community. From the very start, our predecessor, Humble Oil Company, helped shape Baytown by building schools, roads, homes, and gathering places. Today, we proudly carry on that tradition, not just as neighbors but as active community partners committed to making a difference.

Our impact

Each year, ExxonMobil Baytown contributes over $1 million to local non-profit organizations, supporting causes that uplift and strengthen our community. But our impact goes far beyond financial contributions—our employees, retirees, and their families dedicate thousands of volunteer hours to over 200 local organizations, from schools and nature centers to nursing homes and food banks.

We’re honored to play a leadership role in initiatives like Relay for Life, Be Well Baytown, and United Way of Greater Baytown Area and Chambers County.

Beyond community service, ExxonMobil is a key driver of the local economy, contributing over $7 billion to the region annually and supporting nearly 15,000 direct and indirect jobs. We also provide more than $100 million each year in property, sales, fees, and special district taxes—helping to build a strong, stable future for Baytown.

At ExxonMobil, we don’t just work here—we live here, too. That’s why we remain deeply committed to investing in the people, businesses, and organizations that make this community thrive.
