Charities and non-profit organisations have received a welcome boost this Christmas, thanks to ExxonMobil Fawley.

The petrochemical complex has donated more than 400 festive hampers to over 100 groups across the Waterside and Southampton region, providing vital support to help them raise funds for their essential work. The hampers will be used for Christmas raffles, festive fundraising events and community incentives, helping to ease the financial pressure many organisations face when running events over the busy Christmas period.

Building on the success of last year’s contribution, which benefited more than 80 organisations, this year’s recipients were invited to pick up their hampers at Jubilee Hall in Fawley, with a special appearance from Diesel the Cat, ExxonMobil Fawley’s much-loved mascot.

Diesel, along with an apprentice and other members of the ExxonMobil Fawley team, helped usher in the season by giving out the hand-packed and locally sourced hampers throughout the morning.

Also attending on the day was Sarah Tancock, Engineering Manager at ExxonMobil Fawley, who assisted in handing out the hampers. She said: “Our annual hamper giveaway is one of our favourite festive traditions, and we always look forward to supporting the local community in such a joyful way.

“After a year of meaningful community partnerships and volunteering efforts it is a privilege to stand alongside the organisations that make the region such a supportive and connected place to live. This event is a wonderful way to round off the year, and a prime opportunity to meet the organisations we support face to face and hear their stories. We wish them all a very Merry Christmas and hope the hampers bring joy to everyone who receives them.”
