PNG LNG

ExxonMobil PNG Limited operates the PNG LNG Project on behalf of its venture partners including Santos, Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited, Mineral Resources Development Company and Eneos Xplora. Natural gas is produced from well sites in Hela Province, then treated at the Hides Gas Conditioning Plant, after which it is transported by approximately 700-kilometers of onshore and offshore pipeline to its LNG Plant at Caution Bay in Central Province. There it is liquefied and loaded onto oceangoing LNG tankers for transport. Since production commenced in 2014, it has loaded more than 1,000 cargos primarily for long-term customers across Asia. PNG LNG consistently achieves first quartile GHG intensity performance when benchmarked against its industry peers. To learn more about PNG LNG please visit our website.

Mobil Oil New Guinea, Ltd (MONG)

For more than a century, ExxonMobil has been a leader in the Papua New Guinean market. In 1922, the company, under Vacuum Oil, established a small distribution terminal in Rabaul that has grown into Mobil Oil New Guinea, reliably supplying quality fuel across Papua New Guinea with direct operations in the National Capital District, Morobe Province and Madang Province.

During a recent period of fuel supply instability in the country, Mobil Oil New Guinea played a critical role in rapidly ramping up its imports to prevent shortages and – in the process - further solidified its reputation as the nation’s reliable and trusted fuel supplier.

ExxonMobil is also a venture partner in the proposed ~6MTA TotalEnergies-operated Papua LNG Project, which seeks to become the country’s second LNG project by commercializing natural gas resources in Gulf Province for export to the global market. Both the construction and subsequent operation of new electric liquefaction trains adjacent to its existing PNG LNG Project liquefaction facilities have been delegated to ExxonMobil as the Papua LNG Project’s Delegated Downstream Operator.
