India’s energy story is one of the most significant globally.

It’s also tied deeply to the nation’s Make in India and the Viksit Bharat (Developed India) 2047 goals. To support this vision, ExxonMobil is investing in Indian energy, manufacturing, and people.

India Country Chair for ExxonMobil Mike Mustian says that even though we’ve been in the country for decades, now is the most exciting time in our India journey.

“India is pursuing diverse sources to meet its growing energy needs,” Mike says. “Its energy choices make sense, given that you have to factor in affordability for such a large population.”

“It’s really headed in a pragmatic direction.”

But it’s not just in energy use where Mike sees India making an impact.

He says the country has all the right ingredients to be a global hub for manufacturing energy equipment, and that ExxonMobil is well positioned to help make this happen.

We spoke to Mike about why he thinks there’s never been a better time for ExxonMobil in India.
