Where gas can support India's growth: Industry, Transport and Power

What took other nations more than a century to accomplish – industrializing and becoming economic giants – India is attempting to achieve in just a few decades. ExxonMobil is proud to support this ambitious transformation.

India has set a bold goal of becoming a fully developed nation in time to celebrate 100 years of independence (Viksit Bharat 2047). Reaching this target will require energy that is reliable, readily available, and can be delivered where Indians need it most. Natural gas can fuel all three needs.

Matthew Chandler, managing director for ExxonMobil’s gas business in South Asia, says LNG and gas play a significant part in everyday life in India. And as the economy continues to grow, gas is going to find new applications, helping meet rising energy demand while lowering emissions.

While India has made progress in increasing the share of gas in the energy mix, Matt says there is still a lot of opportunity to expand the country’s gas market.

Hear him explain the importance of gas in India’s energy future and how ExxonMobil is supporting that future.
