Imagine a virtual refinery shrunk down to fit on your computer screen. A refinery you can explore, pull apart and put back together from the comfort of your own office. Letting you put virtual boots on the ground at far flung operations from North America to Asia Pacific and everywhere in between, innovating, solving challenges, and developing new solutions.

That’s what we’re doing at the Kuala Lumpur Technology Center (KLTC) in Malaysia. We’re using cutting-edge technology like digital twins and cloud infrastructure to transform global energy solutions — driving efficiency, reliability, and sustainability - and get more out of ExxonMobil’s assets, empowering safer, smarter operations.

The KLTC team supports operations across the world, gathering data from sensors on equipment across a wide range of sites. That means a lot of information is being produced – billions of data points a day. KLTC Digital Operations Lead Phanit Suvanmani explains how the KLTC uses the latest analytical and visualization technologies to sift through all this data to deliver engineering solutions efficiently.

That data is allowing engineers to use tools that can help them work in new ways – changing how they visualize and think about projects. And with so many digital capabilities, KLTC engineers have a wealth of problem-solving tools they can use.
