Supporting our community

We give where we live

ExxonMobil works closely with the communities where we operate to identify and invest in initiatives that help support their needs.

Community investment from the Corporation, Foundation, employees and annuitants totaled more than $2.6 million in 2023 with a focus on education, workforce development, civic/community initiatives and the environment. In 2023, ExxonMobil Baton Rouge supported more than 30 local nonprofits.

We are proud to fund grants for programs and projects at nonprofit organizations or institutions. Each grantee institution must submit evidence of its tax-exempt status to ExxonMobil prior to the distribution of any grant including but not limited to, a tax determination from the Internal Revenue Service. • $1M grant to EBRSS

We recently announced a $1M grant to East Baton Rouge School System. The three-year grant will have three major impacts: supporting literacy for kindergarten through 3rd grade; enhancing teacher development through the National Math & Science Initiative (NMSI); and expanding our paid high school craft internship program.
  • Paid High School Internship Program & Scholarships

We invest in our workforce at all stages of students’ careers. During the summer, local high schoolers participate in craft internships making a competitive wage. In addition, a new collaboration with EBRPSS and LSU will support students with scholarships to attend college. Finally, ExxonMobil sponsored student scholarships to attend Southern University’s engineering camp.

The application process for our High School Internship Program typically begins in February.
