Bangkok – ExxonMobil Limited presented the ExxonMobil Applied Science Excellence Award to a student from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Loei for their project, “Development of a Seed Coating Material Inspired by the Structure of Pterocarpus macrocarpus Fruit for Forest Restoration and Enhanced Survival in Aerial Seed Dispersal.” The award was presented as part of the Prime Minister’s Science Award 2026, recognizing exceptional achievements in applied science at the upper secondary school level. The winning project exemplifies how science and innovation can be leveraged to create practical solutions with meaningful societal and environmental impact.

As part of ExxonMobil’s support for the program Dr. Taweesak Bunluesin, public and government affairs manager, and Ms. Woranun Sakulsiritarakul, public and government affairs advisor, served as judges to select the outstanding project in the Applied Science category.

This year, five projects advanced to the final round in the Applied Science category. These projects showcased the integration of scientific knowledge, technology, and innovation to address challenges through a systematic scientific approach, reflecting the creativity and problem-solving capabilities of Thailand’s next generation of innovators.

The Prime Minister’s Science Award 2026 is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) through the National Science Museum (NSM), in collaboration with the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). Since its inception in 2017, the program has honored outstanding young talent in science, technology, and innovation while encouraging students to further develop their skills, exchange knowledge, and pursue scientific excellence for the benefit of the nation.
