ExxonMobil’s presence in Malaysia is built on a rich legacy shaped by our dedicated people, strong capabilities, and long standing commitment to sustainable growth.
From our early beginnings supplying kerosene to light homes, to pioneering upstream exploration, development, and production activities − including the construction of several of the nation’s major oil and gas installations − we have supported Malaysia’s energy needs for over a century.
We continue to expand our footprint in Malaysia through our dynamic global business and technology centers. From here, we deliver world class IT, digital, and engineering expertise that supports ExxonMobil’s Upstream, Product Solutions, and Low Carbon Solutions businesses around the world.
Upstream
ExxonMobil has interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with the national oil company, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS). These contracts cover approximately 40 oil and gas platforms offshore Peninsular Malaysia, contributing to a reliable and secure supply of energy.
Business and Technology Centers
Our Kuala Lumpur Global Business and Technology Centers serve as a strategic hub for ExxonMobil operations worldwide.
- At the Kuala Lumpur Technology Center, we leverage digital innovation and global collaboration to deliver scalable solutions that enhance operational excellence, competitiveness, and value across ExxonMobil’s upstream and manufacturing operations.
- The ExxonMobil IT organization anchors our Global Business Center in Kuala Lumpur, using modern technologies, data, and platforms to drive enterprise transformation, enable smarter decisions, and accelerate business outcomes.
Product Solutions
ExxonMobil supplies a portfolio of specialty chemical products, including fluids, plasticizers, butyl rubbers, resins, polyethylene, and polypropylene. These materials are used to manufacture thousands of everyday products.
