At ExxonMobil, we believe in giving back to the communities where we operate. In Hong Kong, our commitment is reflected through various collaborative initiatives with local NGOs. Over the past four months, we have supported four community events organized by three NGOs, positively impacting students, grassroots families, and artists with disabilities.
JAHK’s Career Dimension 4.0 workshop
On November 8, ExxonMobil Hong Kong (EMHK) volunteers participated in the Career Dimension 4.0 workshop hosted by Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK). 16 volunteers, including six from EMHK, served as mentors to 100 Form 5 students from St. Teresa Secondary School, offering valuable career planning advice. The workshop included a sharing session where mentors discussed their career journeys and a mock interview session designed to prepare students for future job interviews. This workshop is part of our ongoing effort to foster youth development by helping students discover their ideal careers, plan their paths, and hone their interview skills to secure desirable job opportunities.
SJS’s family day tour to Sha Tau Kok
EMHK supported a family day tour organized by St. James’ Settlement (SJS) on September 22, allowing grassroots families to explore Sha Tau Kok. This area, part of the previously restricted Frontier Closed Area, opened to the public only recently in June 2022. During the tour, 46 family members from 16 local families enjoyed discovering the area’s stunning landscapes and historical sites. They also visited the ancestral halls and temples along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail in Yuen Long in the afternoon. This tour not only educated the families about Hong Kong’s history but also strengthened family bonds, creating cherished memories.
ADAHK’s charity golf day and SJS’s charity golf tournament
Since 2017, EMHK has partnered with the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADAHK) to promote inclusion for artists with disabilities. This collaboration includes placing donation boxes across the extensive network of Esso service stations throughout the city and featuring ADAHK artists’ work on the EMHK Instagram page. This year, we supported ADAHK’s Charity Golf Day on August 26, with one EMHK representative participating as a golfer. This event successfully raised funds for ADAHK while providing an enjoyable experience for participants.
In addition to ADAHK’s event, EMHK supported the SJS charity golf tournament on September 19 with in-kind donations. All proceeds raised in the event go towards the Grant-in-Aid Brightens Children’s Lives Service (GIA) that began in 2005 to provide equal learning opportunities and a brighter future for children from grassroots families.
We are pleased to have joined hands with these NGOs to support these meaningful initiatives that help enrich local communities. We will continue to leverage our resources to promote corporate citizenship and community care.
