Globetrotting gearheads fueling F1

Never in a million years did Fiona McEwan and Pablo Terroba think they would travel the world with Formula 1 drivers. But here they are.

Fiona and Pablo are ExxonMobil racing technical advisors with the Oracle RedBull F1 racing team, and between the two of them, they’re at every race during the World Championship season.

From Bahrain to Belgium and Australia to Austin (Texas), they help ensure the ExxonMobil fuels and lubricants used on the track comply with FIA (Federation International de l’Automobile) regulations and monitor them for any wear issues. It may sound cliché, but they truly make every second count.

“The contributions made by Fiona and Pablo are vital in the preparation, operation and subsequent assessment of the cars to extract the maximum performance as well as reliability in the Championships via the Mobil 1 products” said Paul Monaghan, Chief Engineer, Oracle Red Bull Racing Car Engineering.

Neither of them planned for this life. Fiona joined the company in 2017 as a lab technician at the Fawley refinery in the UK, and Pablo joined the Prague Global Business Center in 2018 as a technology operation specialist. They had no idea what the future held.
