ExxonMobil contributes to Dallas CASA to help abused and neglected children in North Texas

• $50,000 contribution to support services that help children grow up in safe and nurturing homes
• Annual holiday gift supports the work of North Texas nonprofit organizations

Established in 1979, the Dallas chapter of CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, serves more children with volunteer advocates than any other CASA program in the United States. Dallas CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to gather information on children in foster care which helps courts decide the best possible outcome for each child, including a safe and permanent home. In 2020 alone, Dallas CASA served nearly 3,400 children in Dallas County through more than 1,500 volunteers.

“It is incredibly encouraging for Dallas CASA to receive this gift from ExxonMobil because it will help create more opportunities for Dallas children to become successful, healthy adults,” said Kathleen LaValle, president and chief executive officer of Dallas CASA.

“For many children we serve, a CASA volunteer is the only constant face they see during the most difficult and confusing time of their childhood. But with the help of caring advocates and this generous support from ExxonMobil, we can create bright futures and break the cycle of abuse and neglect in the lives of these children.”
