Entered a new business with MobilTM Lithium
We’re planning to become a leading supplier of lithium, which is key to the world’s effort to electrify as much of the economy as possible. The unique process we’re using enables us to produce the lithium from deep underground brine with fewer environmental impacts than traditional hard rock mining used in other parts of the world. Learn moreStrengthened our portfolio
We continued to strengthen our portfolio, including the planned merger with Pioneer Natural Resources. By combining the capabilities of our two companies, we expect to recover more resource, more efficiently, with a lower environmental impact. And we’ll accelerate Pioneer’s net-zero Permian ambition from 2050 to 2035. We also acquired Denbury, giving us the largest owned and operated CO2 pipeline network in the United States and significantly expanding opportunities for our Low Carbon Solutions business.Started up our third major development in Guyana
Offshore production from our Payara development started in November, bringing total capacity from our operations there to 620,000 barrels per day. We anticipate six floating vessels will be in operation by the end of 2027, delivering 1.2 million barrels per day. Learn moreReached 5-million-ton carbon-capture milestone
In June, our agreement with Nucor, one of the world’s largest steel producers, increased the total CO2 we’ve contracted to transport and store for large industrial customers to 5 million metric tons per year – equivalent to replacing nearly 2 million gasoline-powered cars with electric vehicles. Learn moreRecycled more than 45 million pounds of plastic waste
Our advanced recycling facility in Baytown, Texas, completed its first year of commercial operations, processing more than 45 million pounds of plastic waste since startup – on our way to building 1 billion pounds of annual capacity worldwide by year-end 2026. We also started selling certified-circular polymers via mass balance attribution for use in food-safe packaging. Learn moreLaunched ProxximaTM for manufacturing and construction
ProxximaTM, our new resin system, overcomes traditional tradeoffs to deliver a building and coating material that outperforms today’s solutions with less weight, more strength and greater toughness. It can be used to replace steel rebar and to protect subsea pipelines against corrosion. It also helps improve wind turbine blades by reducing their weight while improving their performance against fracture and fatigue. Learn moreReduced GHG emissions intensity
Since 2016, we’ve reduced our corporate-wide greenhouse gas emissions intensity by more than 10%. We’ve cut our operated methane emissions in half, electrified our entire drilling fleet in the Permian Basin, eliminated all routine flaring in our Permian operations, and established our Center for Operations and Methane Emissions Tracking (COMET). We also agreed to join the U.N.’s Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0. Learn moreExpanded our Baytown Chemical operations
We started up two new chemical production units at our Baytown, Texas, facility. Together, they will deliver 400,000 metric tons per year of Vistamaxx™ and Exxact™ performance polymers, for use in products like automotive parts and personal care products, and 350,000 tons per year of linear alpha olefins for things like engine oils and packaging. Learn moreNamed Company of the Century
Our connections to Houston are deep, and we have a longstanding tradition of giving back to the communities where we operate. Our employees volunteer and donate millions of dollars to the United Way of Greater Houston each year, helping to make Houston a better place to live for all. Learn moreExplore more
