Coastal Plain Project
A new generation of growth for the Texas central coast
A new generation of growth for the Texas central coast
ExxonMobil is evaluating multiple locations for a future world-scale chemical manufacturing facility that would produce polyethylene, which is used in healthcare, food preservation, construction and agriculture.
One of the sites we’re considering is in Calhoun County, Texas.
The potential project could create hundreds of jobs and thousands of skilled construction jobs, offering competitive wages and valuable career opportunities.
It could generate billions of dollars in overall economic impact and millions of dollars in increased tax revenues for Calhoun County and the State of Texas.
The project is in the early stages of development, which include studying site feasibility, transportation access, market potential and financial considerations.
We expect to make a final investment decision sometime in 2027, subject to stakeholder support, regulatory permitting and market conditions.
