Production and handling
The Grane field is located about 180km west of Stavanger. The oil will be piped to the deep-water, onshore terminal at Sture on the West Coast of Norway. Liftings at Sture are more reliable than offshore loaders due to reduced exposure to weather, wind and waves. Both the offshore and onshore facilities are operated by Norsk Hydro. Oseberg crude is also exported from Sture terminal and can be coloaded with Grane.
Grane production started in October 2003 and is currently at ~130 kbd. ExxonMobil’s share of production is 25.6%.
Load Port Data
The terminal has two jetties, one of which can accomodate ships up to 300Kdwt and the other can accommodate ships up to 150Kdwt. A system for recovery of Volatile Organic Components has been in operation since 2000.
