Our IT groups are the reason every ExxonMobil employee accomplishes their daily goals. The applications group applies deep technical knowledge to build, run and continuously improve applications to keep our business growing with an innovative edge.
Example roles: Back-End and Front-End Development, Database Technology, IT Architect, Quality Assurance, User Experience


The IT Core is a diverse group whose training, work experience, and skills are typically defined by each ExxonMobil IT (EMIT) function and tend to be specific to that function. Core roles are likely to be involved in, although not limited to, operation, maintenance, support and consulting assignments in EMIT. We offer a range of specialized opportunities, including: infrastructure and data operations and support, security and controls, planning and resource management, business support services, supervisory, and management.

Business Process

Innovation where business knowledge meets advanced technology solutions. The Business Process group works across the corporation, business line and/or business process areas. These professionals deliver competitive advantage to ExxonMobil by leveraging strong business knowledge coupled with deep application knowledge and business data definitions and models.
Example roles: Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Business Analysis, Geoscience Technology, IT Process Management, Manufacturing - Product Lifecycle Management and Quality Management, Operations Technology - Field Systems Integration, Order Fulfilment, Payroll and Timekeeping, Procurement, Sales and Service

Enterprise Security

We require technical knowledge and experience to effectively design, engineer, and manage ExxonMobil’s overall security health. As trusted advisors, we are the safekeepers of information across each business unit. Technical expertise, experience, and business acumen play a critical role in helping the organization ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. Additionally, this group integrates stronger security protocols in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

Data and Analytics

Data and analytics is the foundation of groundbreaking knowledge and insights. Roles in this group maintain a deep understanding of platforms, technology, tools, best practices and principles for data mastery and analytics solutions. Required skills span technologies across software and hardware that capture, manage, integrate, secure, analyze and visualize data. We offer roles across all areas of our business, including upstream, midstream, downstream, chemicals, and corporate business. Note: Data & Analytics does not include data science job roles, which can be found in our Computational and Data Science career path.
Example roles: Business Intelligence (BI) Modeling, Data & Analytics Technical Engineering and Design, Data Governance, Spatial Analytics, Visual Analytics Developer


Join a team that brings a deep understanding of applications to satisfy customers around the globe. The Infrastructure Engineer group is responsible for process integration of services delivered to internal and external partners. Additionally, this group oversees the architectural design and integration of related hardware and software technologies from a strategic enterprise perspective—excluding the support and maintenance of deployed infrastructure solutions.
Example roles: Client Computing, Connectivity, Customer Solutions, Hosting Compute Services, IT Facilities Management, Service Management, Unified Communications & Collaboration


Project management is the backbone of delivery. Our Projects group applies knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to a broad range of activities in roles that vary from project managers and track leads to cost and schedule engineers and delivery managers. Project management values and nurtures skills in negotiation, stakeholder management, project planning, cost estimating, risk management and more.
