The IT Core is a diverse group whose training, work experience, and skills are typically defined by each ExxonMobil IT (EMIT) function and tend to be specific to that function. Core roles are likely to be involved in, although not limited to, operation, maintenance, support and consulting assignments in EMIT. Additionally, this group integrates stronger security protocols in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

Roles in this group maintain a deep understanding of platforms, technology, tools, best practices and principles for data mastery and analytics solutions. Required skills span technologies across software and hardware that capture, manage, integrate, secure, analyze and visualize data. The Infrastructure Engineer group is responsible for process integration of services delivered to internal and external partners. Additionally, this group oversees the architectural design and integration of related hardware and software technologies from a strategic enterprise perspective—excluding the support and maintenance of deployed infrastructure solutions.
