Production and handling
Volve is an oil field located in the southern part of the North Sea approximately eight kilometres north of Sleipner Øst. The sea depth is approximately 80 metres. The development concept is a jackup processing and drilling facility and a vessel for storing stabilized oil. Gas is piped to Sleipner A platform for final processing and export and the oil is offloaded from the storage vessel to tankers for transportion to the market. StatoilHydro is the operator of the field.
Typical cargo size is 500 kb.
Recoverable reserves are put at 78.6 million barrels of oil and 1.5 billion cubic metres of gas. The field is expected to produce for four to five years and at plateau Volve is expected to produce approximately 50,000 barrels per day.
The Volve production started in February 2008. ExxonMobil's share of production is 30.40%.
