Kissanje Blend

Production and handling

Kissanje production commenced in July 2005 and is currently approximately 150 kbd. ExxonMobil is the operator and has a 40% equity interest. Nominal cargo size is 950KB with two-day lifting period. The floating production, storage and offloadinig vessel (FPSO) has storage capacity of 2.2MB.

Load port data

Kizomba "B" FPSO is located offshore Angola (370 km northwest of Luanda and 145 km west of Soyo), at approximate position Latitude: 06° 21'S Longitude: 11° 09'E, in a water depth of 1200-1250 meters. Navigation Charts and publications for the area are as follows:

  • British Admiralty Charts Nos. 3206 and 604
  • Sailing Direction NP 2 Africa Pilot Vol. II

Vessel loadings are primarily conducted at the CALM (Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring) Buoy, which are restricted to:

  • VLCC double or single hull, first or second port
  • SuezMax

The CALM Buoy is designed to accept export tankers up to 350,000 DWT under certain conditions of weather. Total nominal flow rate at the CALM Buoy is 50,000 barrels/hour with both hoses.

In the event the CALM Buoy is out of service, the terminal may go to the alternate Tandem Loading Procedures where the export tanker moors to the south end of the FPSO. Vessels using the Tandem Offloading operation are generally restricted to:

  • VLCC double or single hull, first port only
  • SuezMax

Approaches to the FPSO can only be made between 0600-1500 hours. Vessels are required to arrive with less than 10ppm H2S.
