Overview
- Affiliate name: ExxonMobil Mauritania
- ExxonMobil signed production sharing contracts for three offshore blocks in December 2017. Blocks C-14, C-17, and C-22 are located an average of 155 miles, or 250 kilometers, offshore Mauritania. Together they measure nearly 8.4 million acres in water depths ranging from 3,300 feet to 11,500 feet, or 1,000 meters to more than 3,500 meters. A venture office facility was formally inaugurated in Mauritania’s capital city Nouakchott in May 2019.
- A 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition program conducted over blocks C-14, C-17 and C-22 was completed in June 2019. This 3D seismic acquisition program is the largest proprietary survey that ExxonMobil has conducted globally to date, covering approximately 21,000 square kilometers.
- Future operational activities will be based on a full evaluation of the acquired seismic data.
