In operation since 1999, ExxonMobil's Global Business Center (GBC) was established in the city of Curitiba, in the State of Paraná, because of the availability of qualified, skilled, specialized and multilingual labor, as well as the high quality of the transportation and the telecommunications services.
Currently, the Global Business Center has approximately 1,800 employees and plays a crucial role in ExxonMobil's local and global business, providing Information Technology, Accounting, Finance and Customer and Support services for the various lines of business in over 70 countries. In addition to Portuguese, The Curitiba GBC provides services in 12 different languages.
Some of our daily challenges include financial analytics support; data management for customers in South America and around the world; supplier relationship management, network engineering and technical support; among others.

ExxonMobil was the first oil and gas company to set up operations in Brazil. We arrived in the country on January 17, 1912, under the name of Standard Oil Company of Brazil, and since then we have kept uninterrupted activities in the country.
As part of our legacy, we have the Esso brand and the Tiger mascot in the gas stations. Also important to mention is The Reporter Esso radio cast and TV news show, which subsequently gave birth to the Esso Journalism Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the history of Brazilian journalism for six decades.
