ExxonMobil upstream affiliates recognized for human capacity development at NAPE 2012

The conference - themed “Nigeria Oil and Gas Exploration: The Next Frontier” - brought together several stakeholders in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry.

ExxonMobil affiliates received the award in recognition of its contribution to Human Capital Development in the oil & gas sector of the Nigerian economy, particularly for its 'Train-The-Trainers' program in Nigerian universities (executed through the company’s University Assistance Program and University Partnering Program initiatives), as well as its field refreshment training courses for lecturers, and for its significant investment in the donation of facilities such as field buses and laboratory equipment to the Nigerian universities. These University support programmes have contributed positively to enhancing the quality of recent graduates coming out of Nigerian universities, in line with Nigerian government's local content initiative.

The winner of the Human Capital Development award was decided after the NAPE executive committee sent out a nomination request to over 40 Nigerian universities. After the nomination process was completed, ExxonMobil affiliates came out on top as the most supportive and valuable company in 2012 in Nigeria.
