Esso Italiana S.r.l. is the main company of the ExxonMobil group in Italy where it has been operating since 1891. A leader in the Italian oil industry, Esso Italiana runs - either directly or through controlled companies - activities in several business sectors: refining, petroleum products distribution and sales, and chemicals.

The main operating sites are SARPOM refinery in Trecate (a corporate joint venture) and a lubricants blending and packaging plant in Vado Ligure, both located in northwest Italy, and fuels terminals (directly owned and in joint venture).

The Esso branded retail service stations network, owned and operated by branded Wholesalers and Distributors, spreads across the country and sells high performance Esso branded fuels and Mobil branded lubricants. 

ExxonMobil Italiana Gas S.r.l. is the shareholder (70.7%) of Adriatic LNG, the company that operates the LNG Terminal located offshore Italy in the northern Adriatic sea.

Exxon Mobil Corporation has numerous affiliates, with many names that include ExxonMobil, Exxon, Mobil, Esso and XTO. For convenience and simplicity those terms and terms such as Corporation, company, our, we and its are sometimes used as abbreviated references to specific affiliates or affiliate groups.
