ExxonMobil has had a continuous business presence in France for more than 110 years (Esso) and 120 years (Mobil).

Exxon Mobil Corporation is the parent company of ExxonMobil France Holding SAS, holding 82.89 percent interest in Downstream affiliate Esso S.A.F., listed on the New York Stock Exchange’s Euronext, the main market of the Paris Stock Exchange and 100 percent interest in Chemical affiliate ExxonMobil Chemical France.

The company has two refineries in France: Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon and Fos-sur-Mer. Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon has a 235,000 barrel-per-day capacity including extensive basestock and wax production (including ExxonMobil's only white oils unit) as well as lubricant blending and packaging facilities. Fos-sur-Mer has a 140,000 barrel-per-day capacity. A global energy management system is in place at both Fos-sur-Mer and Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon.

Our employees in France support a variety of nonprofit organizations and the company supports a number of activities such: the Olympiades de la Physique and Chimie, a nationwide physics and international chemical competition for high school students; a regional park in Normandy and Domaine de Saint-Cloud around Paris, allowing local schools and students to participate in sustainable development workshops; and Le Chene, which provides care to wild animals (such as a pan-European seal rescue center) in the vicinity of Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon.

Exxon Mobil Corporation has numerous affiliates, with many names that include ExxonMobil, Exxon, Mobil, Esso and XTO.  For convenience and simplicity those terms and terms such as Corporation, company, our, we and its are sometimes used as abbreviated references to specific affiliates or affiliate groups.
