Production and handling
Sable Island Condensate is produced by Sable Offshore Energy Incorporated (SOEI), a joint venture comprising Mobil Oil Canada Properties (MOCP 50.8%), Shell (31.3%), Imperial Oil (9%), NSRL (8.4%) and Mosbacher (0.5%). Production, which commenced in January 2000, is currently about 7-8 kbd and is expected to reach 15 kbd.
This gas development project is located 125 miles off the coast of Nova Scotia and consists of six natural gas fields that are estimated to have recoverable reserves in excess of 3.5 TCF (trillion cubic feet) of natural gas and over 100 million barrels of gas liquids.
Load Port Data
Sable Island Condensate is loaded from Statia Terminals at Point Tupper, Nova Scotia. Although Sable Island condensate is expected to be shipped in 375 kb-sized cargoes, Point Tupper can handle up to ULCC size vessels.
