United appeals and workplace giving

In 2016, ExxonMobil, together with its current and retired employees, donated $31.8 million through company-sponsored workplace giving campaigns and volunteerism in the United States, Canada and other countries. In addition to United Way corporate gifts in the United States totaling more than $5 million, U.S. employees and retirees pledged $15.7 million to the United Way. In Dallas, Texas, ExxonMobil and its employees and retirees donated almost $1.9 million through our Employees’ Favorite Charities Campaign. Employees and retirees in Canada pledged more than $2 million to the United Way, bringing the total corporate and employee donations in Canada to more than $3 million.

In Houston, Texas, employees and retirees raised more than $11 million, the largest donation in the region, during the company’s 2016 fundraising campaign for the United Way of Greater Houston. ExxonMobil provided over $2M in Corporate donations to the Greater Houston area as well.  Over 3,700 employees volunteered a combined 32,160 hours at Houston-area nonprofit agencies, which was supported by $595,000 in Team Volunteer Involvement grants to the organizations where they volunteered.
