The Kome-Kribi Terminal is located approx. 6 miles off the coast of Cameroon, 12 miles south west of the port of Kribi. The terminal is owned and operated by the Cameroon Oil Transportation Company [COTCO].
The location of the Terminal is - Latitude 2° 54'N Longitude 9° 48'E
The Terminal consists of the 357,000 tonne deadweight Kome Kribi 1 Floating Storage Offloading facility [FSO] that is moored by a swivel and yoke arrangement to a 4 leg SPM jacket which can accommodate vessels up to 320,000 tonnes deadweight. The Kome Kribi 1 is free to weather vane around the SPM through a full 360°.
Export tankers will moor via a typical tandem mooring arrangement, and will be assisted by two tugs and a mooring boat at the terminal. Loading rates will be 40-50,000 bbls/hour.
Approaches to the terminal can only be made during the hours of daylight; however, export tankers may unmoor from the terminal at any time.
Doba Blend is produced in Chad and pumped via pipeline to the Kome-Kribi FSO. Doba Blend liftings commenced in October 2003 and current production is ~100 kbd; ExxonMobil has 40% equity.
