Production and handling
The constituent fields Auk, Clyde, Ekofisk, Embla, Fulmar, Gannet, Gyda, Gyda South, Janice, Joanne, Judy and Ula are located approx. 320km offshore Norway's coast in the center of the North Sea. Production from Ekofisk began in 1971 and is currently producing over 300 kbd, of which ExxonMobil markets ~5 kbd. Typical cargoes range from 600kb to 1000kb.
Load Port Data
Teeside (54° 35' N, 1° 09' W) is located on the northeast coast of the UK; the terminal has 4 loading berths which accommodate tankers up to 150,000 dwt. The draft limitation at Berth No. 1, the crude oil-loading berth, is 72 feet.
Production from satellite fields which lie in the Norwegian sector are transferred via Norpipe to Teeside in the UK.
Typical characteristics
Ekofisk is a light, low sulfur North Sea crude oil with a particularly low sulfur resid cut.
