The September 23 donation included an arterial blood gas machine, a Seimens Rapid Point 500e, two video laryngoscopes, a McGrath MAC Handle 9X1 and video laryngoscope blades, and 1,000 KN95 face masks.

“ExxonMobil and its co-venturers are happy to play their part by providing this equipment and supplies to benefit Ghanaians,” said Preba Arkaah, public and government affairs manager at ExxonMobil. “We hope that patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit will greatly benefit from it.”

The donation aligns with ExxonMobil’s commitment to support healthcare, a social investment pillar. The medical supplies were procured following engagements with hospital physicians to better understand patient needs and to support the facility’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“These vital medical items are in demand and for ExxonMobil to secure them for us is a great blessing,” said Dr Yaw Ofori-Adjei, head of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. “These items will enhance the unit’s delivery of care for the patients we serve.”

Dr. Ofori-Adjei reiterated the importance of healthcare and noted the equipment will contribute immeasurably to the hospital’s efforts to provide quality healthcare to all Ghanaians.

ExxonMobil is the operator of the Deepwater Cape Three Points block offshore Ghana’s western coast; GNPC and GOIL are co-venturers.
