OUR CLIMATE COMMITMENT

Credible, tangible plans to reduce emissions

We recently announced plans to further reduce emissions by 2025, based on 2016 levels. These plans represent some of the most aggressive reductions in the industry and are expected to result in:

  • 30% decrease in absolute greenhouse gas emissions in upstream operations
  • 40-50% decrease in absolute flaring and methane emissions

The need for energy is universal. That's why ExxonMobil scientists and engineers are pioneering new research and pursuing new technologies to reduce emissions while creating more efficient fuels. We're committed to responsibly meeting the world's energy needs.
