Placement on the consideration list does not guarantee work for ExxonMobil projects. Businesses on the list will receive consideration for work on projects, but must complete the qualification process and meet all ExxonMobil project requirements in order to compete for selection.

1. Why is ExxonMobil focusing on hiring local vendors?

ExxonMobil is committed to hiring local vendors for projects where possible. We have called Southeast Texas home for more than one hundred years, and we value the local community and are committed to generating good relationships with local residents and businesses. 

2. What types of businesses should apply?

A variety of businesses, including catering, printing, office and safety supplies. All interested businesses in Jefferson County and neighboring Southeast Texas counties are encourage to express interest. This includes businesses in Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Orange, Tyler and Newton counties, as well as the Bolivar Peninsula of Galveston County.

3. Are there any fees associated with submitting an expression of interest?

No. Business is located in Jefferson, Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Liberty, Orange, Tyler and Newton counties, as well as the Bolivar Peninsula of Galveston County are eligible to submit an expression of interest for free.

4. Who is eligible to submit an expression of interest?

A business must have a physical presence (not just a mailbox) in Jefferson, Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Liberty, Orange, Tyler and Newton counties, as well as the Bolivar Peninsula of Galveston County.

5. How does this submission process improve my chances of successfully bidding for work with ExxonMobil?

The submission process will determine if your business meets important standards for working with ExxonMobil, including safety qualifications, bonding, insurance, skills training, and quality assurance.

6. How can I ensure my company qualifies for work with ExxonMobil?

The submission process determines whether applicants meet ExxonMobil standards for safety, security, and training.

7. When is the deadline to apply?

To be considered for upcoming work, please submit your expression of interest by September 1, 2018. Businesses are encouraged to initiate the process well in advance of the deadline to ensure timely completion.

8.  Will Jefferson County businesses have higher preferences on the list?

All businesses from Jefferson, Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Liberty, Orange, Tyler and Newton counties, as well as the Bolivar Peninsula of Galveston County, are eligible to participate.  Businesses from Jefferson County will receive higher preference.

9. My company is not based in Jefferson County, but has a local branch/franchise in the area. Can I qualify for the waived fee?

Yes. Companies with local offices and operations in Jefferson, Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Liberty, Orange, Tyler and Newton counties, as well as the Bolivar Peninsula of Galveston County, are eligible for the fee waiver.

10. How long does it take to complete the expression of interest?

The time it will take to complete a submission will depend on how much information the applicant has readily available. Businesses are encouraged to initiate the process well in advance of the September 1, 2018 deadline.

11. How will I know my information has been accepted by ExxonMobil?

ExxonMobil will review information as it is submitted. ExxonMobil will notify you once your information is complete and whether your company meets the standards required by ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil will notify you of your status following the September 1, 2018 deadline.

12. What information will I be required to provide to ExxonMobil?

Information requested on the submission form includes:

  • Insurance
    - Copies of applicable insurance policies (e.g., workers’ compensation, general liability, excess liability)
  • Safety
    - OSHA 300 Logs for the past three years
    - Statement from insurance company regarding Experience Modification Rating for the past four years
    - Number of upheld OSHA citations in the past three years
  • Quality
    - Quality Certifications (e.g., ISO, DNV)
    - Code Certificates (e.g., ASME, AISC)
