Production and handling

Tapis crude is produced offshore in the South China Sea, East of Peninsular Malaysia. Production is currently approximately 300kbd. ExxonMobil holds about 30% equity. EMEPMI is the terminal operator. 

Load Port Data

The crude is loaded at Terengganu Crude Oil Terminal, Kerteh, Malaysia (4° 29' N, 103° 24'E).

  • Maximum DWT: 250,000 MWT (140,000 KT during November to March monsoon)
  • Maximum draft: 20.4 metres
  • Maximum loading rate: 40,000 bbl/hr

Typical characteristics

Tapis Blend is a high quality, extra light, low sulfur crude. It has a high quality clean products and conversion feed.
