Higher education

In 2012, ExxonMobil provided more than $49 million worldwide to colleges, universities and other organizations that support higher education.

Other education

In 2012, contributions totaling $18 million were made in support of vocational and entrepreneurial education, including courses on life skills, business development and micro-enterprise training.

Dr. Bernard Harris, physician and former astronaut, is the inspiration behind a rigorous program that fosters math and science skills in middle-school chhildren. This past summer, more than 1,200 students attended one of the 25 camps help in 23 cities across the united States.

Public information and policy research

ExxonMobil provides support to organizations that promote international relationships and understanding, institutions with strong research capabilities that contribute to informed policy decision-making, and organizations that assess public policy alternatives on issues of direct importance to the petroleum and petrochemical industries.

United Way and workplace giving

In 2012, ExxonMobil, together with its current and retired employees, donated $30.3 million through company-sponsored workplace giving campaigns in the United States, Canada and other countries.
